Examples of projects undertaken by Learning Mentors working with students
Year 11 study skills and revision techniques
Groupwork with year 11 students to go through study skills and various revision and examination techniques such as mind-mapping and mnemonics to enable them to study effectively. Students complete revision and homework schedules to ensure they use their time efficiently. In addition, they identify their learning styles in order to tailor their revision.
Groupwork
Dependent upon students varying needs, we work with them to raise confidence, build up self-esteem, work on transition and address challenging behaviour. Students partake in various activities in the form of role-play, teamwork, voice projection, writing, self-awareness and many more, to bring about the desired change.
Duke of Edinburgh award
Learning Mentor, Mr Sohoye contacted the Enfield Duke of Edinburgh team and under his leadership several students have embarked upon the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award scheme.
