Courses offered:
This is equivalent to 2 GCSEs and looks at the business world via a mixture of exam and coursework units. Investigating all aspects of the operations of a business forms the basis of the portfolio work. Students also complete an exam unit on Business Finance
Over the two years students will study a total of 6 units, at AS level Unit 1 Investigating Business. Unit 2 People in Business and Unit 3 Financial Planning.
At A2 level Unit 8 Business Planning, Unit 12 Managing People and Unit 15 Financial Accounting for Managers.
Students study Markets and the National Economy at AS followed by Investigating working as an Economist via Business Economics and Income, and finally Government National and International Economic Policies. You do not need to have studied this subject before. It is desirable to have Grade C in GCSE Maths and English Language.
