BLP is an approach to help students become better learners both in and out of school. It is about creating a culture in the classroom and across the school that cultivates habits and attitudes that will help our students face difficulty and uncertainty calmly, confidently and creatively
The programme is based on years of working in schools – observing lessons and talking to staff and students.
BLP has been adopted by schools around the world as well as in the UK and by all different types of schools – infant, primary, secondary, special, comps, grammars, independents, schools in special measures and outstanding schools. Now further education colleges and outdoor education centres are also getting on board, demonstrating that it is never too late to start building students' learning power.
Students in Year 7 & 8 at Kingsmead have a Building Learning Power once a fortnight.
