HOW YOU CAN HELP

Ensure that your child comes to lessons properly prepared with the correct basic equipment for measuring and calculating.  Parents can help by ensuring proper use of the calculator and by testing knowledge e.g. table facts. Parents should also monitor homework regularly. Test your child’s mental maths ability by, for example, getting them to add up prices as you do your shopping. Praise and encourage their efforts.  Being efficient in their time table is an essential task.  Encourage your child to use mental maths whenever possible.
