International School Award Success

In recognition of our work bringing the world into classrooms, Kingsmead has just been awarded the British Council's prestigious International School Award.

The International School Award is a badge of honour for schools that do outstanding work in international education.  Kingsmead's international work includes fund raising to build two houses in rural Kenya for two families, writing to pen-pals in the USA, studying music and artistic styles and techniques from other cultures, the consideration of global issues in history and geography lessons and a member of staff visiting schools in Zimbabwe as part of the 'Connecting Classrooms' project, also organised by the British Council.
