Year 10s Win Tottenham Hotspur Enterprise Challenge

Five Year 10 students beat off competition from Lea Valley High School, Highlands, Enfield Grammar and St. Mary's from Cheshunt to earn the right to represent Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League Enterprise Challenge.

Tarik Aciyan, Natalia Marrese, Korri Alger, Evie Rose and Alfie Williams were asked to come up with a solution to the following issue: 'How can Tottenham Hotspur attract new young fans from its local community?'

The group's idea to have a network of Tottenham Hotspur themed youth clubs attached to local Primary and Secondary schools found favour with a panel of judges who thought their idea was both innovative and built upon the work the Tottenham Foundation already does.

The group were praised for the clarity of their presentation as well as how well they answered probing questions from the judges.

The group will now represent Tottenham Hotspur in the national Premier League Enterprise Competition as part of Global Enterprise Week on Monday 14th November.

All five students will now have to come up with another business plan.  The challenge that has been set is: 'Taking into consideration new technologies and design, what would you implement to enhance the supporter/match day experience at Premier League matches?'

The group will then be invited to pitch their ideas to a panel of judges including representatives from Nike, the Premier League, Tottenham and the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills.  It has been rumoured that Business Secretary, Vince Cable, M.P. and the Prime Minister, David Cameron may also be in attendance!

As a 'thank you' and a reward, all five students have been invited to watch Tottenham's Europa League match at White Hart Lane v Rubin Kazan on Thursday 20th October.

Proud Learning Director of Year, Mr Pieri, who entered the group into the competition, had this to say: 'I am extremely proud of all five of them.  Their presentation was superb and they answered some difficult questions intelligently and with maturity.  They worked hard and deserved their success.  Now for the national title!'
