Having won the right to represent Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League Enterprise Challenge, our team took part in the final on 14th November.
Premier League teams represented by 15 schools participated in the final held at Tottenham's White Hart Lane stadium. Teams had been set the challenge of enhancing the supporter/match day experience at Premier League matches, taking into consideration new technologies and designs,
The day begun as a launch for Global Entrepreneurship Week and hosted by Sky Sports News presenter, Hayley McQueen, there were speeches by Mark Prisk, MP, the Minister for Business and Enterprise, Richard Scudamore, the Chief Executive of the Premier League and entrepreneur, Sir Keith Mills.
After the speeches the teams then proceeded to pitch their ideas and give their presentations. Kingsmead were up second and delivered a fabulous presentation and skilfully answered probing questions from the judges with confidence and expertise.
After the presentations there was lunch and a tour of the famous White Hart Lane stadium before the judges gave their all important verdict! Kingsmead were praised for the depth or their research, time management skills, and responses to difficult questions, but unfortunately it wasn't quite enough and they lost to a team representing Blackpool F.C. The students were disappointed not to win, but deserve huge praise for the preparation they put into the event and their dedication which involved staying late after school and even preparing at White Hart Lane during half term week. They may be disappointed, but they came away with some valuable life skills.
The event was a wonderful experience for the students who in addition to the lunch and tour of the stadium had their photo taken with Spurs and England star, Michael Dawson and even featured on a Sky Sports News bulletin! Congratulations to Tarik Aciyan, Korri Alger, Natalia Marrese, Evie Rose and Alfie Williams for their comittment, maturity and professionalism.
