How parents can help their child with homework:
-
Check your child's planner to see that homework set by teachers has been filled in.
-
Encourage your child to put a tick beside each homework as they complete it.
-
Establish a regular routine and time for completing homework each day.
-
Make a quiet place with a level surface to work at available to your child. If this is not possible, remind them that the Homework Club takes place in the school library between 3:30-4:30pm every day.
-
Make sure your child is a member of a local library and encourage them to read as much as possible.
-
Provide the necessary equipment e.g. pens, pencils, a ruler, a dictionary and a calculator.
-
Check your child has completed their homework properly.
