What will be expected from me during the course?
The subject deals with human mind and behaviour and attempts to find reasonable explanations for person’s actions and life experience. A psychology student should approach the subject with an open mind and understanding that psychological theories and claims require scientific evidence. There will be many new and complex scientific words too. It is therefore essential that students come well prepared, attend all lessons, remain focused during the lessons, participate in individual and group activities, and continue to do independent background reading and other homework as required in order to help their final achievements.

Homework
You will be expected to do homework and/or preparation after each lesson. Some of homework will involve reading and summarising key points from the textbook or other sources, understanding views of professional psychologists, as well as legendary psychologists, such as Freud, answering examination-like questions, completing worksheets, making analysis and evaluation of different topics, as well as preparing for class activities such as discussions, group work, video documentaries or role play.
What will I gain? Where can I study after the course?
Studying Psychology may allow students to observe themselves and their environment from a more objective, mature, accurate and critical viewpoint. The A-level course provides extensive and comprehensive psychological knowledge that opens many Higher Education doors.
An AS in Psychology is particularly valuable for students who wish to go on to study Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy, Law, Criminology, Biology, Medicine, Health and Social Care, Education, Management, Ethology (animal behaviour), Human Resources or Training and Coaching. These degree courses may open many career opportunities in future.
