Re: Sixth Form Events for October - Multi-Cultural Day and Pink Friday
In celebration of our Multi-Cultural Community that is
KINGSMEAD
SCHOOL - the students in the 6th Form, under the leadership of Abi Olayinka and the Multi Cultural Committee - will be holding an awareness raising day on Friday 8th October to acknowledge the superb range of cultures and heritages which makes up our school community.
We would ask 6th Form Students and those staff who wish to participate - to wear something that makes a cultural statement. This can be directly related to an individual's (or their family) cultural heritage or it could be any cultural heritage that you wish to celebrate. This could take the form of a hat, beads, clothes, scarf, etc - the more variety and colourful the better!
The students in the 6th Form will also be listening to a range of cultural music at break and lunchtime - so Tutors if any member of your form wishes to bring in a CD from their favourite musical culture ( eg Salsa, soca, high life, country, etc) please do.
REMEMBER : This is a consciousness raising event - NO MONEY REQUIRED!
Pink Friday (Charity Day for Breast Cancer Research) - will be held on Friday 22nd October. More details to follow. ...................................................................................................................................
