A message to parents from Mrs Young, Learning Director of Sixth Form

We all want the best for our children – as parents, carers and teachers – that’s our ultimate aim.

Our students have tremendous untapped abilities – many of them grossly under estimate what they can achieve.  In the Sixth Form we subscribe to the belief that Failure is not an option – we  EXPECT MORE from our students and we GET MORE!  – the future is too important to leave it to chance; so much depends on the Student’s success – so we challenge them – to go beyond the ordinary and show us their mettle!

Last year 23 students in our Sixth Form obtained FULL MARKS (100%) on an A Level paper – including one student who obtained a Grade A on every paper she sat (she took 4 subjects)

altThe Sixth form offers students one of the best opportunities to progress into an exciting and challenging career and to have experiences that will support their development as world citizens.

Last Year 98% of Year 13 students applied and got into a University of their choice including SOAS, Nottingham, Bristol and York.

Our past students are everywhere and doing everything imaginable –  from Fishing [Management] to Pharmacy – from Punting down the River Cam [at Cambridge University] to working in the London Stock Exchange; from meeting Presidents [Clinton] to playing football in Alaska! [with LA Galaxy]

There is a saying that “ALL GOOD THINGS MUST COME TO AN END” - Absolute NONSENSE!  We do not subscribe to this view:

Kingsmead School is a good thing!                        Kingsmead Sixth Form is a better thing!

Getting into University or getting the Career you really want is the BEST THING!

We are here to support our students to develop academic and interpersonal skills which are both valued by university admission tutors and employers alike.

All Good things come to an end?!   NO WAY

Good things should never end!       Welcome to the Sixth Form at Kingsmead School.
