Betty has worked as project manager and account executive for two market research companies and is currently UK Account Manager for Nebu, a software company in the market research industry.
Betty completed A levels in Art, Business and Media at Kingsmead before completing her degree at the London College of Fashion. During her time at LCF, she studied a variety of subjects within the broader umbrella of 'Fashion': Styling, Make-Up, Pattern Cutting, Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM). She also studied Market Research and Marketing, Cultural Studies, History/Politics, Illustration, Fabric Technology and Media Studies.
At Nebu she has responsibility for the care of UK clients and some European and international clients, ensuring the products and services provided allow them to run projects smoothly and efficiently. The role involves trouble-shooting where needed, helping clients move forward.
As well as Account Manager, Betty is also involved in some extra-curricular projects within Nebu such as the development of marketing material, streamlining internal and external documentation and branding and the development of the website as well as other projects to help the company become more commercially aware and profitable. She also updates social media accounts on the company's behalf.
Betty also organizes the quarterly Nebu Open Forum event, where clients and colleagues discuss matters at hand and attends Technology and Market Research conferences.
Betty returned to Kingsmead in December 2010 and gave a presentation to the sixth form on using social networking sites to help find jobs and build a career, sharing her own experience and presenting case studies of people she has worked with. You can download slides from the presentation here.
Of her time at Kingsmead from 1998 to 2005, Betty says, "Being at Kingsmead was great. The teachers are endlessly supportive and genuinely care, so much so that I still keep in touch. I'm so glad I went to Kingsmead and not any other school."
