MUSIC AND DRAMA: From the late 20th century

My PVA Day event was being a roving reporting with students from other year groups . I took a lead role and had two students to help me  take notes and ask questions. We firstly went to the History Department and were immediately introduced to music from different decades. The first room I did my report on was in History 3, the students went through  choices of songs with their teacher and fully enjoyed the Jackson Five's "I want you back".  Students complained about 60s songs being slow and melow but they went on to practise by going over the lyrics as one group.  However as they rehearsed they found " I want you back" a bit challenging and eventually changed to "Stand by me" by Ben E King.  The students went on to choose a 70s song which was described as harder, faster and more "disco" than 60s.

To continue with my reporting, me and my team entered into History 5 and they were doing 80s and 90s as the majority picked Wham which is a British group formed in 1981 by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley.  However the boys didn't like Wham as they thought it seems a bit feminine. This led onto working out the acting part where students had to split into two groups as they had to do a slap-stick comedy to present it to the students in History 3.  Both Groups were rehearsing a play called "Accident Death Of An Anarchist".
