Knitting

"It's a good way to calm you down"

By Shanae Staple

Students who enrolled in the knitting activity on this day described the activity as "amazing and a good way to calm you down". The target activity was for each student to knit an individual square in a colour of their choice. All squares were stitched together creating one big techinicolour blanket.

For young children, knitting is stereotypically perceived as 'boring', but the students who took part in the activity today stated that knitting was infact 'better than they expected". Teachers commented that the pupils had tried hard and picked up the art of knitting easily; "The year 8s have been brilliant".
