the angel The angel was designed by ex-Kingsmead student Billie-Maria Achillios-Whitbread for her A Level Art.  She went on to study Fine Art at St Martins School of Art (London University).  The angel was too big for Billie-Maries house but she had spent so much time on it she did not want to throw it out, so we displayed it with lots of help from the Site Management Team.

We use the angel as a symbol of achievement seeing our students asHigh Flyers who can achieve whatever dreams they have.  The original wings fell apart, for the material they were made of was  rather delicate so at the Performing and Visual Arts Day, some of our Year 13 students redesigned the wings and painted it black and gold to add richness to its appearance because all of our students are not only stars, they are also caring world citizens who see looking after those who are vulnerable as all our responsibilities hence their sterling efforts at charity fund raisingthey over the years raised large sums of money including building a house for a family in Kenya through Habitat for Humanity.
