Back in 2015, Mr Zaki Cooper, former Buckingham Palace press officer, visited Kingsmead school to ask whether a group of our then Year 12 students would like to join a number of other schools on this prestigious project.
Students including Rhys, Tasnim, Andrew, Dilara, Kieran, Sophie, Kubra and Ceyla researched websites including the Court Circular, to collect information regarding the Queen’s official engagements during a predetermined year. This information will contribute towards a digital archive of all the Queen’s engagements since the beginning of her reign 6th February 1952.
The students worked on the project for a series of weeks before submitting their findings to Mr Cooper.
This week we were very happy to receive the following letter from Buckingham Palace, signed by the Queen’s Assistant Private Secretary Samantha Cohen, thanking Kingsmead for their contribution to the project.
