The Music department offers a very broad curriculum at KS3 which feeds into the GCSE requirements at KS4.

This includes Conventions of Pop, Film and Game Music, Rhythms of the world and the Concerto through time.

All music is taught though Listening Performing and Composing at all stages.

We offer a wide range of extended curricular activities including:

• Keyboard Club
• Choir
• Specialist tuition for our Performing and Visual Arts Students
• Music Technology Club for KS3&4 and KS5
• Music Theory Classes
• Advanced A level club for year 11

Years 7 & 8

A broad curriculum based on Listening Performing and Composition.

Performing is taught mainly through singing and keyboard skills.

Continual assessment procedures ensure all students acquire the necessary skills to choose and be successful at GCSE if they wish at KS4.

PV&A students receive one free lesson in their chosen instrument/Voice.


This is a very successful course and in recent results 92% of our students met or exceeded their target grades; this included 6 A Grades and 2 A* grades

All students receive a free instrumental/vocal lesson at GCSE level.
