Enrichment

An ambitious and inclusive programme of activities that foster the development of further skills outside timetabled lessons.

These are critical skills such as teamwork, collaboration, the importance of contribution and participation and sense of responsibility. Our enrichment programme extends learning and allows our students to follow their interests beyond the classroom. Our links to external organisations enhances this provision, which helps to build our community ethos and contributes to our students’ enjoyment of school life.

Enrichment Program at Kingsmead

At Kingsmead, we focus on teaching three essential elements that provide students with lifelong advantages. Our mission is to deliver excellent academic knowledge, cultivate exemplary behaviour, and implement the Readiness Curriculum, which fosters a deep understanding of the wider world. As part of this curriculum, we offer an extensive extra-curricular program available to all students. These activities run from Monday to Thursday, with significant involvement from our dedicated staff community. Our offerings are divided into several key areas: Academic Support, Advanced Enrichment, The Arts, Craft Skills, Culture and Politics, Specialist Interests, Sports, and Wellbeing, providing a wide-ranging and enriching experience for our students.

Our extra-curricular offering is driven by what our students want. We regularly survey the entire student body and work to adapt and expand our program based on their feedback. Last year, in response to student requests, we added hockey, basketball, Dungeons and Dragons, and many more activities. This year, we are excited to introduce swimming as part of our ever-growing selection. We are committed to ensuring that our clubs and activities reflect the interests of our students, providing them with engaging opportunities that cater to their passions.

Fundraising at Kingsmead

Our school is actively involved in numerous fundraising initiatives, partnering with various charities and programs such as First Give and the Wings of Hope Achievement Award.
