Celebrations at Kingsmead as Sixth Form students achieve fantastic A Level results

Students and staff at Kingsmead School are celebrating today following a fantastic set of A Level and Level 3 results, with improved outcomes and some outstanding individual achievements across the Sixth Form.

This year, 45% of grades were awarded at A–B, an increase of eight percentage points from 37% in Summer 2025, while 71% of grades were awarded at A–C, compared with 68% last year. At the highest grades, 18% of results were awarded at A*–A, up from 13% in 2025.

Among those celebrating is Evinnaz, who achieved an impressive AAB in Mathematics, Economics and Sociology and will now progress to the University of Exeter, where she will continue her academic journey, with her sights set on a future career as a Policy Analyst.

Ryan has secured a place at Birmingham Medical School, one of Britain's largest and oldest medical schools, having achieved AAB in his Mathematics, Biology and Chemistry studies.

Ekin has achieved outstanding A Level results and secured a place at Warwick University to read Law. Ekin studied Psychology (A*), Photography (A) and English Literature & Language (B), demonstrating both academic excellence and creativity across a diverse range of subjects.

There was further success for Adam M, who achieved an outstanding A* in Mathematics and A grades in Further Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science. He will now begin the next stage of his journey by studying Aerospace Engineering at university. Adam R also achieved impressive results including AAA in Mathematics, Economics and Psychology, securing a place at Bristol University to study Economics.

Lila is celebrating an impressive set of A Level results including an A* in Geography and A grades in Mathematics and Spanish. She is looking forward to beginning an exciting new chapter at the University of Manchester, where she plans to study Politics and Spanish.

The improved results reflect the ambition and determination of this year's students and the dedication of staff who have supported them throughout their studies.

These improved outcomes are a wonderful reflection of the hard work, ambition and determination of our young people, together with the exceptional commitment of the staff who have supported them.

Seeing our students celebrating today and preparing to take up places at universities, apprenticeships and other exciting destinations is incredibly rewarding. They have achieved so much and thoroughly deserve this moment of celebration.

Furthermore, for the first time in Kingsmead’s history, three Year 12 students entered for A Level Mathematics a year early. George, Rafal and Neil all rose to the challenge of studying and sitting a full A Level alongside their Year 12 studies, achieving an outstanding set of results – A* (George) and A (Rafal and Neil) – and having set a new benchmark for what is possible at Kingsmead Sixth Form.

We couldn't be prouder of this year's students. They have worked tremendously hard and it is fantastic to see that commitment rewarded with such a strong set of results. There are some exceptional individual achievements across the cohort and, most importantly, our students are leaving Kingsmead ready to take their next steps with confidence and ambition. It has been a privilege to be part of their journey and we cannot wait to see what they achieve next.

Students will now progress to an exciting range of destinations, including Queen Mary University of London, The University of Exeter, Manchester, Birmingham, Warwick and Bristol as well as degree apprenticeships and employment opportunities, pursuing fields including medicine, law, economics, engineering, politics, languages and the arts.

The results mark an exciting end to the students' time at Kingsmead and provide plenty to celebrate for the whole school community.
