Kingsmead students open doors to bright futures on GCSE Results Day

There were smiles, celebrations and plenty of proud moments at Kingsmead School today as Year 11 students received their GCSE results and prepared to take their next steps.

Students are celebrating a positive set of results, with some fantastic individual achievements and inspiring success stories emerging across the year group.

The day provided an opportunity to recognise not only academic accomplishments, but also the resilience, determination and personal growth shown by students throughout their time at Kingsmead. Their achievements reflect years of hard work and commitment, supported by dedicated staff and families who have encouraged them every step of the way.

Many will continue their Kingsmead journey in September by joining the school’s thriving Sixth Form community, while others will progress to colleges, apprenticeships and specialist programmes aligned with their interests, talents and ambitions.

Among those celebrating was Malakai, who secured an outstanding 9999999887 across his subjects. A passionate scientist, Malakai is now preparing to continue his studies at Kingsmead Sixth Form before pursuing his ambition of studying at University College London and becoming a forensic pathologist.

Asa is celebrating a phenomenal set of GCSE results, achieving 99999988877 across her subjects. With her sights firmly set on a future career in medicine, Asa will now take the next step in her academic journey, building on her strengths in science and mathematics.

Samia was delighted when she opened her results to discover she had achieved an exceptional 9999888877 in her GCSEs. Samia is looking forward to continuing her Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics studies at Kingsmead Sixth Form as she works towards a future career in the field of Biology.

With ambitions of one day becoming a pilot, Zacharia has already shown the determination and resilience needed to pursue his goals. Having achieved an impressive 9999888776, he is looking forward to joining Kingsmead Sixth Form in September.

Sahar’s achieved 9988877777 but her ambitions do not stop there. She hopes to achieve top grades at A Level before progressing to a medicine-related degree at either Oxford or Cambridge University.

Brayan has his sights set firmly on the future, with ambitions to study Computer Science at the University of Cambridge before progressing to a Master’s degree in Quantum Informatics. He is already well on his way after achieving a phenomenal 99999888888.

Acting Headteacher Ms Batteson said:

hat a fantastic morning it has been at Kingsmead. Seeing our students open their results, celebrate with family, friends and staff and begin to look ahead to their next steps is what Results Day is all about.

We are incredibly proud of this year group and everything they have achieved. Today is an opportunity to celebrate not only their results, but the progress they have made, the challenges they have overcome and the young people they have become during their time at Kingsmead.

I would also like to thank our teaching and pastoral staff, as well as our students’ families, for the support and encouragement they have given our young people throughout their time with us.

Ms Rizvi, Assistant Headteacher, added:

Behind every result today is an individual story and we are incredibly proud of the achievements of this year group. It has been a privilege to watch them grow in confidence, develop their talents and work towards their ambitions.

There are some fantastic successes to celebrate, and we are excited to see our students taking their next steps, whether that is continuing into Kingsmead Sixth Form, joining another college or Sixth Form, beginning an apprenticeship or pursuing another pathway. We know they have bright futures ahead and look forward to seeing all they go on to achieve.

The achievements celebrated today follow closely on the heels of the school’s A Level and Level 3 results last week. The Sixth Form recorded improved outcomes, with 18% of grades awarded at A*–A, 45% at A*–B and 71% at A*–C, and with students securing places at leading universities, apprenticeships and employment destinations across a wide range of sectors.

Kingsmead School wishes every member of the Class of 2026 the very best as they take their next steps.
